With the recent announcement by the World Health Organization declaring the new coronavirus, known as COVID-19, as a pandemic, it is important that we all take proactive steps to protect ourselves. We care about your health as well as the health of your staff, children and families.
If your family took a cruise or has travelled to any of the countries with level 2 or 3 travel restrictions from the CDC in the past 2 weeks, we humbly request that your child not return to school until they have completed a 14-day self-quarantine. Again, this is for any cruise, even if your destinations are not under travel restrictions. Currently, places with travel restrictions include China, Iran, South Korea and most of Europe. There are places within the United States that are experiencing outbreaks within their communities, such as New York, Washington State, and California. Please be aware that if you are traveling to places such as these, there may be restrictions put in place at a later date.
Finally, if you, your children, or other family members you may have recently interacted with, are not feeling well or are showing symptoms of illness, please stay home. We humbly request that for the betterment of the community and to stop the spread of COVID-19, please do not administer fever suppressants and send your children to school. This puts many people at unnecessary risk. If your child falls ill at school, then as per the sickness policy, we urge you to please come pick up your child in a timely manner. We are expecting the same of our staff members. Please communicate with us about any illness and we will continue to do the same for you all.
The staff at Americas Choice Childcare is committed to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our children, parents and staff. We are taking extra precaution in ensuring that the facility and its equipment is sanitized and cleaned multiple times daily.
Given all this information, if you still have concerns about your child attending school or what may happen at school, you may choose to keep them at home. If there is anything we need to relay, we will do so as needed. Again, please make sure we have up-to-date contact information for email and text messaging purposes.
